Harvest is collaborative project between HarborArts, Eastie Farm, and local schools, focusing on urban environmental education through art. The creation of this community art begins through interactions between the young people of East Boston and the urban farms and gardens of Eastie Farm. There, students learn to grow and care for plants, investigate where food comes from in our community, learn about food waste management, pollination, biodiversity, and the importance of food accessibility, regional food systems, and local community-based climate action. Together with professional artists, students will express their ideas creatively to inspire and design a new series of large-scale murals and public artworks. These exhibitions will be installed at Eastie Farm's community spaces where students and families gather, learn, create, and grow.
