New England Presenting & Touring

About New England Presenting & Touring

With its origins in New England, NEFA maintains a core group of programs specifically serving the New England region, from which both national and international programs have evolved. Current programs support the presenting and touring of performing arts in the region, working with New England-based composers, and encouraging New England arts presenters to investigate new or unfamiliar artists or ensembles.

New England Presenting & Touring seeks to:

  • Increase capacity of New England organizations who hire artists and the capacity of New England artists to effectively engage community audiences;
  • Clarify the purposes and connections among NEFA’s regional artists’ programs to create a continuum of funding and opportunities that serve NEFA’s overall priority of connecting artists and communities;
  • Facilitate exchange among and between New England artists and arts organizations to strengthen collaboration, for increased visibility and efficient allocation of resources;
  • Encourage New England artists and organizations to challenge the expectations of New England arts audiences through new contemporary work and innovative means of increasing engagement with artists;
  • Continue to update MatchBook.org as a resource for New England artists and communities and explore new uses of technology to enhance dialogue and networks among New England artists, organizations, and communities.
