NEFA networks: New website design includes community focus via forum

(Boston, MA - November 2009) New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA), a nonprofit organization providing leadership and resources to benefit artists, the public, arts funders, and policymakers throughout New England and beyond, announces a new visual identity and website, featuring the NEFA Network, a forum for the arts community.

”Quite simply, it’s the power of art,” said NEFA executive director Rebecca Blunk of the new design by Boston-based Korn Design, a nationally recognized brand strategy and design firm.  “Our new look is a much more vibrant expression of our mission and impact, and better communicates who we are in a way that we hope will invite others to participate.

Leveraging the savvy and leadership of Korn Design, and building on NEFA’s five-year strategic plan, the re-design work included brand strategy, a new visual identity, messaging, print collateral, and new website featuring the NEFA Network.

A free account gives users access to several forums within the NEFA Network– Creative Economy, National Dance Project, New England Presenting & Touring, Native Arts, and Public Art – with multiple topic areas, including calls to artists, professional development, and job postings, within each.  In addition to being a service to the region’s creative sector, the Network allows for program staff to be a part of the discussions that arise, and better advocate for the field in real-time.  Said NEFA director of programs Jane Preston, “We are excited about launching this means of connecting with our colleagues in the field.  Our goal is to promote stronger networks and information sharing that will be of benefit to our grant recipients, applicants, funders, or anyone interested in real-time issues and opportunities in these areas.”
