Biography

Amy Hausmann is the Executive Director of the Maine Arts Commission, bringing 30 years of experience as a curator, arts administrator, and public servant. Before joining the Commission in August 2024, Hausmann was the director of Olana State Historic Site in Hudson, New York, where she was responsible for the cultural, historic, and natural resources of the 250-acre museum campus, a National Historic Landmark. Hausmann’s previous roles include senior curator and deputy director at the New York Transit Museum and deputy director of MTA Arts & Design, where she oversaw the award-winning public art program in New York City’s transit system.  A champion for the arts, she is a dedicated advocate for making art and culture accessible to everyone. Hausmann’s career has been marked by her commitment to artists and the significant art and cultural programs she presents in public places. In her role at the Maine Arts Commission, Hausmann focuses on strengthening support and promotion of the state’s vibrant arts community by fostering collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity, aligning with the Commission’s strategic goals to nurture and celebrate the arts across Maine.
