360 Ensemble

An Intersection of sculpture, composition and dance--This project combines sound, movement and sculpture through the creation and fabrication of a life-sized lego-type set of bricks. The orientation of the bricks in space determines the order of sounds, duration - as well the bricks light when the sounds are made. This sound / light / structural environment will be utilized in a small gallery space - inviting dancers, musicians, and the public to arrange and co-create a sculpture, that in turn creates a sound score. In addition, short dance vignettes will be choreographed to explore the relationship and stimulation of the sound sculpture to movement.
