A new evening length, multidisciplinary performance by dancer/choreographers Asher Woodworth and Hana van der Kolk features visual, light, and sound design by Ethan Kiermaier. The work stems from embodied research into the notion that nonhuman entities (rocks, sounds, books, buildings, fires, climates) possess “thing power” and exist utterly on their own terms, exerting an influence on human projects and behavior. The work evolves into an enchanting, beautiful virtual reality a colorful, animistic world, where everyday objects turn uncanny, and bodies are elevated to the status of religious symbology. The audience must decide what to accept and reject in a deluge of viewpoints and data.
