1. February 8 – February 11, 2023. Whitehead (Creator and Artistic Director of ‘FORCE! an opera’) traveled to New York to work through the bulk of a budget and grant application co-written with the Vera List Center (VLC). She also met with VLC board member Linda Earle to discuss the work.

2. March 7 – March 11, 2023. Whitehead and Ayanna Woods (Music Director and Co-Composer) traveled to Los Angeles to meet with NPN co-commissioner REDCAT (Director João Ribas, and curators Edgar Miramontes and Daniela Quintanar) and walk through theater. Woods and Whitehead also met with LA Philharmonic representatives and Crenshaw Dairy Mart (both potential partners for the LA Presentation of ‘FORCE!).

3. July 10 – 15, 2023. Tuce Yasak (Lighting Artist) will meet Whitehead for a day at The Chocolate Factory, NPN co-commissioner of ‘FORCE!’. Whitehead will work with the VLC to discuss coming year and premiere. She’ll also take an intensive to strengthen practice and build networks.
