DRONE is a multidisciplinary theater project by award-winning artist Andrea Assaf, exploring the human impact of drone warfare through testimony, movement, music, and projections. Commissioned by the Arab American National Museum (AANM), the project draws from diverse perspectives, including veterans, civilians in war zones, and peace activists, to examine themes of state-sanctioned violence and resilience.

Activities include community story circles, creative workshops, and a full residency culminating in public performances at Detroit Public Theatre in July and August 2025. These performances will feature a collaborative ensemble of actors, musicians, and designers, followed by facilitated dialogues to foster engagement and understanding. Situated in Detroit, a city known for its rich cultural heritage and activism, DRONE creates meaningful connections across communities, amplifying underrepresented voices and addressing critical global issues through art.
