Art2Action will present Nejla Yatkin's "Ouroboros," a moving solo work combining dance, live music, and storytelling, at Stageworks Theatre in Tampa, FL, March 28-30, 2025. Inspired by the ancient Middle Eastern symbol of a snake eating its own tail, “Ouroboros” takes audiences on a journey through the cycles of time, nature, and culture, weaving together contemporary and Middle Eastern dance styles, with theatre, storytelling, cabaret-style song, and multiple languages–including English, German, Turkish, and ASL. With original music composition by Shamou, live music accompaniment and sound design by Sathapat Sangsuwan, “Ouroboros” is a multi-sensory experience that promises to leave a lasting impression on audiences across the Tampa Bay. Community engagement activities will include a masterclass at the University of South Florida (USF) School of Theatre and Dance, open to all dance majors, and partnerships with local Turkish businesses and cultural organizations.
