This would be the first time Sun Ra Arkestra have come to Keene NH. Also 2024 is the year of bandleader Marshall Allen's 100th birthday.

This ensemble is, without hyperbole, one of the great living organizations preserving and pushing jazz, having begun in 1952 by the legendary Sun Ra. Over the years the band has become an American institution, influencing Black music, art, jazz, R&B, theatre, poetry, and philosophy, as well as infusing everyone's cultural heritage, beyond class, race, gender, ethnicity, and religion with a true innovative voice.

This is an incredible opportunity for this community, and we expect a sellout show. The band also are encouraging further community engagement by opening up their soundcheck to area students from any surrounding schools and universities.
