Hawk Henries, a member of the Chaubunagungamaug band of Nipmuck and a recipient of a Native Arts grant from NEFA, will offer a five day North Country residency during Native American Heritage month. He will provide a series of school and community programs for all ages, including three public concerts. Hawk has been composing original flute music and making flutes using only hand tools and fire for over 25 years. He will share music and stories from his life and heritage with children and adults throughout the region, with a special emphasis on providing programs to people in need of comfort and connection (e.g., at the regional women's shelter, nursing homes, and prison).
