Arts Alliance of Northern New Hampshire

The Arts Alliance plans a five day residency with Syrian clarinetist composer Kinan Azmeh and Sri Lankan-born pianist/composer Dinuk Wijeratne. In addition to performing a stirring public "Art of the Duo" concert, the artists will engage high school and college music students, music educators and community members throughout the region, guiding explorations of musical concepts from collaboration and creativity to composition and improvisation; expanding the public’s understanding of classical music through the infusion of Middle Eastern and Asian elements; and addressing issues from cultural awareness to global support of refugees in talks, lecture-demonstrations and community receptions.
