Karim Nagi, an Arab Muslim musician and dancer, originally from Egypt, will offer his school program, Arabiqa, a four day Arab Music, Dance & Culture residency, in the K-8 school in Tamworth, New Hampshire. The work in the school will culminate in an interactive final assembly. Karim will offer a midweek teachers' workshop where he will present ways to overcome stereotypes and present true Arab culture to underserved and underexposed student populations, as well as a community workshop introducing traditional Arab instruments, songs, and dances to the town. Three additional musicians will join Karim on Friday night to give a public performance at the historic Barnstormers Theatre.
