Arts Council of Tamworth

This project blends art, community, sustainability, and accessibility. During the summer months, we have plans to lead a community-built sculpture project made from used bike parts sourced from the local used-bike collective. Ultimately, this sculpture will become the first sculpture in a newly designated outdoor community sculpture garden. At the end of the summer, we will celebrate the end of project and the opening of the sculpture garden with a live performance from Johnny Fireseed & The Junkyard Dogs, a quartet that uses instruments made entirely from trash, recycling, and re-purposed items to perform original music with an upbeat eco-message. Prior to the unveiling event, we will arrange for the band to do an artist-residency at our local title-1 K-8 school.
