The Arts at Millersville University

The Arts at MU will be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop with our students and community by presenting Freemind and Origins by Versa-Style Dance Company in the Fall of 2023. First, we will host a free high school and elementary school day performance of Origins for the economically-challenged schools in downtown Lancaster, whose make-up of students is 70% children of color (Sept. 29th, 10:30 am.) A Q & A with the dancers will immediately follow the performance. On Saturday, Sept. 30th, we will present a public performance of Versa Style's Freemind and Origins to an adult and family-friendly audience, which will include complimentary tickets being provided to families of the PA Migrant Education project, the Crispus Attucks Foundation, and the Lancaster Boys & Girls Club for a free evening of cultural arts entertainment. Finally, we will invite students from marginalized segments of the County including the refugee and immigrant populations to a community Hip Hop workshop.
