Bates Dance Festival

Bates Dance Festivals will plan the 2019-2020 tour of a canary torsi's CAST, STAGE, AUTHOR directed by Yanira Castro. This trilogy of work is entirely modular and works can be performed on their own or in any configuration. This tour planning grant will support artist visits to each committed site as well as each potential site to discuss how the work might best fit within that specific venue and community. Yanira Castro and her designer Kathy Couch will use these visits to create spatial drawings and to interact with community members via workshops, artist talks, and interviews that will be eventually integrated into the performance.
