Five New England based presenters intend to meet with Chicago-based footwork crew The Era in order to plan a tour in Summer/Fall 2020. In Fall 2019 planning partners will attend the premier of In the Wurkz in Chicago, meet with the artists, watch a footwork class, and tour to the South and West side neighborhoods where footwork was born. In the Wurkz is a touring dance performance based on the lives and dreams of dancers on the West & South Sides of Chicago. This innovative work unveils a history of footwork through the movements, music, films and memories of Chicago’s award winning company, The Era Footwork Crew, with music by the city’s leading footwork DJs from the Teklife collective.
