Bates Dance Festival will present three performances of Nora Chipaumire's 100% Pop, as the culminating event for her year-long residency within BDF and the Bates Dance Department. Performances will be August 1-3, 2019, which will close the 2019 Festival.
As part of the engagement, Nora and her collaborators will participate in the Inside Dance program by having an artist talk at Indigo Arts Alliance, present a "Show and Tell" lecture-demonstration, host a lunch-and-learn with festival students and faculty, and teach two more workshops at Tree Street Youth - a local organization that supports the refugee youth (primarily African) in Lewiston, Maine.
