On the Boards

Clear & Sweet is an investigation of collaborators Zoe Scofield and Juniper Shuey’s (zoe | juniper’s) roots in the South and in religion through a combination of contemporary dance and Sacred Harp Singing, a choral form founded in Southern Baptist Churches but now practiced secularly. This performance explores the process of our universal desire for connection and community through ecstatic experience larger than oneself, while emphasizing art as a space to be alone together. It will be an immersive sonic and visual experience. “Clear & Sweet” will be presented at On the Boards (OtB) October 20 – 23, 2016, following technical and developmental residencies at our space.
