Brown University, Department of Theatre Arts and Performance Studies

In April 2019, Brown University will partner with ANIKAYA Dance Theater for a site-specific performance titled “Silent Flight.” Silent Flight is directed by Wendy Jehlen, artistic director of ANIKAYA Dance Theater, an ensemble of dancers/choreographers from around the world. Jehlen will be creating a site-responsive improvisational score to be performed by ANIKAYA, students, and community members. The work will be approximately 30 minutes long and will incorporate scores based on flight, migration and the flocking behaviors of birds. The performance will draw on stories of climate change impacting birds, and how these changes affect human culture.
