Brownbody

On Jan. 16th at 6pm, we have the wonderful opportunity to screen Tracing Sacred Steps: A Cinematic Experience. The screening will take place in Philadelphia, PA at the Stella Gallery in the Tyler School of Art and Architecture on the Temple University campus.

Blending dance, theater, and figure skating, Tracing Sacred Steps is an NDP supported live performance work choreographed in 2022 by Brownbody Artistic Director, Deneane Richburg with artistic advisement by Lela Aisha Jones, and contributions from the skating-movement artists. This cinematic version of Brownbody's signature on-ice work was filmed by Aidan Un, directed by Aidan Un and Deneane Richburg, and features a score created by Alex Shaw. The event will also feature a post-screening facilitated discussion with the artists including Deneane Richburg, Lela Aisha Jones, Chelsea Ridley, Roobi Gaskins, and LaJuné McMillian. Support will go towards covering artist travel for Deneane Richburg.
