Burlington Civic Music Association

This project is to enable a new work by Alonzo King, Lines Ballet, to be presented by Burlington Civic Music Association on March 21, 2016 in Burlington, Iowa. as part of its eight concert subscription series.The project includes an educational component in the form of master class by company members. This is a collaboration uniting Alonzo King with natural soundscape artist Bernie Krause and composer Richard Blackford. The dancers' natural habitat of stage space is transformed into a natural habitat of the sonic imprint of entire ecosystems. The dancers flow within these natural sounds from field, forest, and ocean, enhanced with Blackford's' score and King's choreographic mastery.
