A weeklong production residency for Swing Out will take place in July 2020 via a first-time partnership of Joyce Theater Productions with George Mason University. Essential for this large-scale production celebrating the Lindy Hop is bringing the entire cast together at GMU with all elements in place to rehearse and refine the work before its premiere at The Joyce Theater in August 2020. The cast of 12 dancers, 1 understudy, a 10-piece big band, and 1 vocalist will benefit from technical rehearsals and a dress rehearsal with a local audience while the project team will determine the technical rider and make final artistic and design changes illuminated due to the residency experience.
