This Project represents the blossoming of the creative mind and life, the mind opening we experience when interacting with people outside of our immediate community, the robust results of cross-pollination, pollinators as the canaries in the coal mine of climate change, and the potential of people of different abilities to work well together. The motion sculpture Pollination was designed by Jodi Lomask partly while in residence at The Kennedy Center where she was working with Max Kazemzadeh and the students of Gallaudet University. She will be presenting Cross-Pollination on this sculpture with the help of Capacitor dancers. Deaf choreographer Antoine Hunter will be performing a duet on the sculpture as well.

STEM Portals workshops provides an alternative way into science and math for young people by providing an embodied exploration using Capacitor’s innovative cross-disciplinary approach. Academy interns will participate in workshops. Dates include: Oct 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 14, 15
