This imagination team is comprised of Cabo Verdean and Cabo Verdean/American women who are all engaged in various forms of artistic endeavors in New Bedford and the greater New England areas. We are teachers, poets, authors, and community activists, as well as visual, performing, and graphic artists. Our team is rooted in New Bedford, Massachusetts, where Cape Verdean/American history basically began. The collaborators are also from other New England areas where Cabo Verdeans reside. However, all of our roots lie in the archipelago of the Republic of Cabo Verde.

We are embarking on this imagination journey because we would love to have New Bedford be the place where we continue to illuminate the accomplishments and contributions of Cape Verdean and Cabo Verdean/American women. Many women in history have generally gone unnoticed, with Cabo Verdean culture being no exception. The New Bedford waterfront, being an entry point for many, would be a perfect place to envision a showcase.
