Carolina Performing Arts will welcome Shantala Shivalingappa back to Chapel Hill in February 2015 as part of our 10th anniversary season to perform her latest program of Kuchipudi, a South Indian classical dance form that marries a fierce precision with sensual flowing lines and deft footwork. Titled "Akasha," which means space, the program features five solos, three of which are choreographed by Shivalingappa and two of which are by Vempati Ravi Shankar. CPA will host several several residency activities in connection with the performance.
