Cherish Parrish, an emerging basketweaver, will exchange with master beadworker, Teri Greeves. Cherish has started to expand her artform beyond basketry and the traditional use of ash for weaving due to the decimation of ash trees by the Emerald Ash borer beetle. Looking at other artforms, Cherish decided to seek guidance from Teri on beadwork. Teri will teach floral design techniques from the Great Lakes and techniques of her own tribe. In exchange, Cherish will demonstrate how she prepares her basket materials from the growth rings of the black ash tree, and teach Teri two basic basketweave styles.
