CitySpace presents a collaborative celebration of New England folk music featuring fiddler and singer Ida Mae Specker. A third-generation musician raised in Vermont, Ida Mae fuses original, traditional, and contemporary styles, breathing new life into American folk music. With over a decade of experience as an educator, she will lead a free, participatory workshop and demonstration on traditional fiddle music designed to engage and inspire community members of all skill levels.

The workshop will precede a free bluegrass jam during Art Walk Easthampton, inviting the public to join in the joy of live, improvisational music. In the evening, Ida Mae and her four-piece band will perform a concert in CitySpace’s Blue Room, a historic venue dedicated to fostering arts and cultural experiences in Old Town Hall. This project emphasizes accessibility and connection, inviting audiences to actively engage in the region’s rich folk music traditions.
