The Brooks Center for the Performing Arts will host Step Afrika! for a residency from September 19- 23, 2022. The Brooks Center is part of the Department of Performing Arts at Clemson University. We will present a public performance of Drumfolk on Thursday, September 22 at 7:30 p.m. and an educational performance open to K-12 public and home schools will take place on Tuesday, September 20 or Wednesday, September 21 at 10 a.m. Two community discussions on the history of stepping as an American art form will take place with campus partners including the Clemson University Humanities Hub and Clemson University Division of Inclusion and Equity. Three step dance master classes will be offered to Clemson University step teams and dance students, local high school students and local step teams. Three educational performances will be performed at local public schools to be determined.
