I will engage in a co-created mentorship with Curtis Pierre, founder and director of CASA SAMBA in New Orleans. The public art practice goals I have in working with Curtis Pierre are to improve my playing of the Brazilian percussion instruments, learn more about video editing and shaping this content for curriculum, learn about his approach to skill-building and artistic leadership that aligns the Afro-Brazilian traditions with the Mari Gras traditions of New Orleans.
