The Colonial Performing Arts Center

The Colonial will present We Shall Overcome on January 18, 2020. Taking inspiration from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., composer and musical director Damien Sneed reminds us of the great changes our country experienced in the 20th century. It’s a celebration of African-American music and the civil rights activists who have been inspired by these songs. It will include local participation from Monadnock Chorus, and will be followed by a post-show Q&A, among other activities. This engagement will be accompanied by pre-performance workshops, a screening of the film 'The Blackness Project', and discussion groups at The Colonial, Keene State College, and the Historical Society of Cheshire County.
