We Wait In The Darkness is a solo performed and created by Ms. Simas, inspired by the Seneca matrilineal line of her family, and her grandmother's life story of displacement and homecoming. We Wait In The Darkness takes its name from an Iroquois song from the secret medicine society to which her great-grandmother belonged. We Wait In The Darkness is presented in an otherworldly environment of images and sound, created with photographer Douglas Beasley and composer François Richomme. A research residency week will take place in January 2015.
