Leviticus or Love and to walk amongst HUMANS: A dance in two parts is an exploration of prayer, sin, movement as a spiritual awakening, love, and loss. This new dance project will center Black spiritual practices that have grown from queer, trans, cis, and non-binary bodies. This multi-part dance work is set to traditional and contemporary gospel music that will be reimagined and inspired by Aretha Franklin’s Amazing Grace gospel album and documentary.

Caretakers of Land/Land Acknowledgement: The ancestral lands of the Nacotchtank and the Piscataway People.

Estimated Artist Fee: $45,000 - $50,000 + travel, housing, and per diem
