The Dennis C. Moss Cultural Arts Center

The presentation of HSD is planned as an initiative of the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center for introducing and commissioning artists who represent the under-represented, or elevate social awareness of equity, diversity and inclusion, to dance audiences in Miami. Previous presentations and commissions include Adele Myers and Dancers, Sarah Julie, and Olujimi Dance Collective. The presentation of Helen Simoneau Danse will take place in the intimate Lab Theater of The Moss Center during the summer of 2022. The performances will take place on multiple days (Fri, Sat, Sun) to allow maximum exposure and opportunities for our audiences to attend one of the performances.
The program will consist of three works in 2 Acts:
Act I- Delicate Power an all-female cast that examines how individuals hold and exert powr through voice and body.
Act II Excerpt from Darling (male/male duet) examines the aspect of power and the leader/follower, dominant/submissive energies
