Dorchester Weather Theater Ensemble

"The Lot Next Door" is a community-devised theater project set to premiere in Summer 2026 at a city-owned lot at Norfolk Street and Woodrow Avenue in Dorchester. This project, led by the Dorchester Weather Theatre Ensemble, explores local systems in a 21st-century environment, addressing sustainability, social resilience, and public space stewardship through the creation of a site-specific play. The project will involve community engagement and storytelling workshops, culminating into a public script reading and the eventual theatrical production. The ensemble's work emphasizes collaborative creation, drawing on local narratives to inspire reflection and action on environmental justice and equitable development. This project not only transforms a physical space but also seeks to foster long-term community connections and dialogue around public art as a vehicle for justice and empowerment.
