In our first year of programming, the DAF seeks to establish a reputation for world-class programming in Amherst, cementing the Drake's unique ambassadorial role as a community bridge builder. Amirah Sackett and MR MIC is part of a series of performances intended to draw students to the venue. Their latest project, BeatBox MEETS Popping, brings their talents together for a dynamic, one-of-a-kind performance that showcases Muslims in a positive light and promotes religious tolerance.

These two Muslim artists bonded by faith and their love of hip-hop, offer a counter narrative to the mediaʼs portrayal of Muslims. Both Ahmed and Amirah are dedicated to preserving and sharing hip-hop culture with the next generation and audiences around the world, as well as being examples of using art for social change.
