Loom Ensemble’s “Tell Me How You Breathe,” centers on the lungs – organ of grief and interconnectedness – as the site of intersection between climate catastrophe and social justice. This performance is touring city parks and outdoor venues in VT, MA and NY, combining a racially diverse cast of professionals with local Community Dance Ensembles in each state.
In addition to the performances, Earthdance is hosting the formation of the MA Community Dance Ensemble, in a retreat format. This “rehearsal and performance intensive” is to open to all levels of experience, advertised as “explicitly body-positive, antiracist, queer magic”, guiding participants through the collaborative creation of their own choreography, and integrating that work into the public performance.
On the dates of the shows, audience are invited to stay after the show for Artist Talkbacks, a Community Meal, and a post-show Movement Workshop to somatically integrate the content of the performance and talkback.
