The Egg presents Song of the Jasmine, is a collaborative work by choreographers Aparna Ramaswamy and Ranee Ramaswamy with composer/saxophonist Rudresh Mahanthappa. In India, the jasmine flower traverses the world of man and the world of the gods. Recalling the past to experience the power of the present moment, Song of the Jasmine freely moves between composition and improvisation, music and dance, delving into the concept of longing through the lens of recollection, appeal, and total surrender.
