Rennie Harris Puremovement’s returns to Providence for the first time in ten years with their 25th Anniversary Living History Tour, the centerpiece of an exploration of hip hop during the 2016-17 season. Along with the evening performance as part of FirstWorks Artistic Icons Series, RHPM will engage K-12 students with a daytime matinee and two workshops, augmented by customized teacher training; creative and community conversations between RHPM, local artists, and community leaders about using the arts to build bridges and solve divisive social issues; interviews with RHPM by Teen Correspondents and local media outlets; and pre-show lobby performances by local hip-hop artists.
