Tour Planning Grant support would lay the groundwork for a New England tour of artist Lars Jan’s HOLOSCENES, a large-scale performance-installation that embodies the trauma of flooding and examines our relationship to water. HOLOSCENES is a visceral and visual performative collision of the human body and water, addressing climate change as the central issues of the 21st century. The piece will be a catalyst for our community of Providence, Rhode Island and be a galvanizing force within partner New England communities. Beyond the project itself, planning the tour is a powerful model for regional arts presenters sharing resources, attracting sponsorship in a new way and forging partnerships.
