FirstWorks will present From Bamako to Birmingham (From B2B), a collaboration between Malian ambassadors of Afro-pop, Amadou & Mariam, and Gospel Hall of Famers, The Blind Boys of Alabama. The public performance will be a powerful comeback for FirstWorks Artistic Icon Series and provide a showcase for stellar local West African musicians. Engagement activities, both live and virtual, will connect the artists with our Rhode Island community, furthering our ADA strategies and commitment to affirming BIPOC artists. A catalyst for access and inclusivity for audiences and students with differing abilities, these extraordinary musicians will help “widen the circle” to include faith communities.
