FirstWorks

FirstWorks is thrilled to deepen our meaningful partnership with world-class musician and dynamic teacher Sidy Maiga to expand FirstWorks’ performance programming to Newport and premiere at the Jane Pickens Theatre. Combining West African percussion traditions with modern rhythms of the Caribbean and hip-hop, Sidy will engage new audiences through FirstWorks’ live and virtual performances. In working to build relationships between students and artists, Sidy will work with economically disadvantaged students in Newport, RI to create equitable access to the arts. This project embodies FirstWorks’ objective to amplify diverse voices and celebrate our differences through the arts.
