“What does it mean to belong” and “What does it mean to NOT want to belong,” are core questions of Reggie Wilson’s investigations for his new evening-length dance work, CITIZEN.
In CITIZEN, Wilson drills down into our human desire to belong with exponentially expanding questions that tease-out the theoretical and cerebral, confronting his research, thoughts and ideas on kinesthetic, personal, practical, and macro levels, to offer possibilities. This work highlights the contradictions, isolation and anonymity imbedded in the co-existence of our individual self with our civil duties. CITIZEN promises to engage, compel and ignite disruptive perspectives regarding compassion and humanity.
