This residency targets the disinvested urban community of Richmond, CA. While Richmond is an essential city in the Bay Area, it is not served by the signature artistic innovation that is offered up in and for San Francisco residents. This residency therefore has two goals: To bring community responsive, free site specific public performance to the low income residents of Richmond; and To bring a series of activities to Richmond that support women/ families living through incarceration of loved ones. Our goal is to integrate participatory workshops, advocacy activity, performance and social gathering, to counter the isolating journey that women live through in secondary incarceration.
