The Gateway Concert Series

The Cuatro Puntos Ensemble is dedicated to intercultural dialogue, has performed across four continents, and has rave reviews in Fanfare Magazine of recordings featured on the likes of NPR and BBC. They will present “The Curve: Music for strings & percussion by Iraqi Composer Ameen Mokdad, written while in hiding from ISIS.” This powerful program was compiled and arranged for Cuatro Puntos Ensemble from Mokdad's wartime compositions while composer and ensemble were working together in Turkey. It tells a powerful story through music and multimedia collected by Mokdad from the war in Mosul. A community talk will explore the power of music to affect social change in post conflict environments.
