La Carpa De La Frontera is a people’s touring theater vaudeville show that provides informative, fun entertainment to any community, with a special focus on the most vulnerable areas. The audience will experience Old School Street Style CHICANO-MEXICANO Theater. In the rascuache (People’s Theater) tradition theater the focus is on political, social, artistic expression from the 1970's and 1980's Chicano movement, deriving from Mexican style tent shows (Carpa’s) of the 1930’s and 40’s. Written, created, performed by every-day working people for an every-day working audience.

In San Antonio, the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center (GCAC) will present La Carpa de La Frontera free of charge at the Plaza Guadalupe, an open-air public space that can accommodate several hundred audience members. The venue is at the heart of San Antonio’s Westside, a traditionally underserved and culturally rich part of town where Chicanx and Latinx artistic traditions resonate.
