Hancher Auditorium

Michael Sakamoto’s Soil will be presented as a part of Hancher’s first season in the new facility, and Sakamoto and his collaborators will serve as artists-in-residence at the University of Iowa during early spring 2017. The residency will include six community engagement events that will take place in January and February, in the weeks leading up to their performances of Soil. The show will be performed on February 8th and 9th in Strauss Hall, the smaller of two performance spaces in Hancher Auditorium, which seats just under 200 people.
