The NEST grant makes possible a New England tour of Boston Dance Theater's The Carol Kaye Project across Maine, Massachusetts, and Maine, under the direction of Artistic Director Jessie Jeanne Stinnett and company. During the tour, Harvard University will present Boston Dance Theater and The Carol Kaye Project: Seminal Bassist, Boston Dance Theater & Women Choreographers, during three days connecting with our growing dance and music communities. Welcoming Boston Dance Theater to perform The Carol Kaye Project, facilitate community workshops, and lead artistic discussions carves out new possibilities for New England dance companies. Boston Dance Theater's tour culminates in combining audiences in a virtual gathering to highlight insights from Executive Director Kelsey Halliday Johnson, of SPACE in Portland, ME, Executive Director Beth Falconer, of 3s Artspace in Portsmouth, NH, and LROD, who is the Interim Head of Dance of Theater, Dance and Media, at Harvard University, Cambridge, MA.
