In summer 2018, IBA plans to build on the existing relationship it formed in 2017 with artist Pedro Adorno and his theater troupe Agua, Sol, y Sereno when they visited Villa Victoria, an affordable housing community, to participate in IBA’s annual Festival Betances. Pedro will engage our low-income community through art workshops, an interactive theater performance, and again partake in Festival Betances, a weekend Puerto Rican celebration that attracts 3,000 visitors each year. By showcasing Mr. Adorno's multidisciplinary work in Villa Victoria, IBA intends to strengthen community engagement and generate interest in his work from potential touring partners for 2019.
