We are requesting your support in the amount of $15,000 to support the further development and implementation a curriculum package for /peh-LO-tah/; a full-evening theater work that springs from a hypothesis linking the sport of soccer to local and global economic hierarchies, fan behaviors, political allegiances and social practices. Along with Marc Bamuthi Joseph, Ictus gathers together long-time partner organizations in site specific work as well as the implementation of an educational workshop series for young immigrant populations in multiple cities that fuses writing, poetry, artmaking, soccer and place-keeping activities to engage communities in and around presenter sites.
